( WEBSITES THAT LOOK GOOD ON EVERY DEVICE )
RESPONSIVE WEB DESIGN SERVICES
Custom, mobile-first websites for nonprofits, businesses, and creatives that work on every screen. Built to convert, accessible by design, and handed off with the training to manage it with ease.

WHAT IS RESPONSIVE WEB DESIGN?
Responsive web design is the practice of building websites that automatically adapt their layout, content, and images to look right on any screen — from a phone in someone's pocket to a monitor in a conference room.
Rather than building a separate mobile site, a responsive website uses fluid grids, flexible images, and CSS media queries to deliver one seamless experience everywhere. One codebase. Every device. No compromises.
It's also a trust signal. Over 60% of web traffic now comes from mobile devices. A site that breaks on a phone breaks confidence — and conversions — before a single word is read.

WHY WEB RESPONSIVENESS MATTERS MORE THAT YOU THINK
TEXT TOO SMALL TO READ
Visitors pinch-zoom just to get through your headline. Most don't bother — they leave.
BUTTONS TOO SMALL TO TAP
Your donate button, your contact CTA, your nav — all built for a mouse cursor, not a thumb.
SLOW LOAD TIMES & LAG
Unoptimized images and bloated code kill page speed. Google notices. Your ranking suffers.
HORIZONTAL SCROLLING
Fixed-width layouts spill off the screen on anything under 1,200px. That's most of your traffic.
LOWER SEARCH RANKINGS
Google uses mobile-first indexing. Non-responsive sites don't just rank lower — they can disappear entirely.
ACCESSIBILITY FAILURES
Poor mobile design and inaccessible design almost always go hand in hand. Learn more about why good web design is inclusive.
YOUR RESPONSIVE WEBSITE
QUESTIONS, ANSWERED
( FAQ’S )…
WHAT IS RESPONSIVE WEB DESIGN?
Responsive web design is how modern websites automatically adapt to look great on any screen size. Instead of building separate desktop and mobile versions, a responsive site uses flexible layouts, fluid images, and CSS breakpoints to reformat itself based on the device. The result is one website that works everywhere — no pinching, no zooming, no horizontal scrolling. → Read the full guide: What Is Responsive Web Design?
HOW MUCH DOES RESPONSIVE WEB DESIGN SERVICES COST?
Most complete responsive website builds land between $5,000 and $15,000, depending on scope, number of pages, and integrations needed. Smaller refreshes or audits typically fall between $3,000 and $5,000. I provide transparent pricing after a free discovery call — nothing is quoted blind.
HOW LONG DOES A PROJECT TAKE?
Most full builds take 6–12 weeks from kickoff. That timeline depends on scope, how quickly content and feedback come in, and any third-party integrations involved. Refreshes and audits can move faster. We establish a clear timeline before anything starts.
WHAT PLATFORM DO YOU RECOMMEND FOR RESPONSIVE DESIGN?
For most small to mid-size organizations, Squarespace or Bloom.io is my recommendation — reliable, secure, and easy to update without a developer after launch. WordPress is available for teams that need complex custom functionality or content workflows. Every build is mobile-first regardless of platform.
DO I NEED RESPONSIVE WE DESIGN IF I ALREADY HAVE A WEBSITE
If your current site doesn't automatically adapt to mobile, yes. The fastest way to check: pull up your website on your phone. If you have to pinch or zoom to read anything, or if navigation is hard to use with your thumb, it's not responsive — and it's likely hurting your search rankings because of it.
WILL I BE ABLE TO UPDATE THE WEBSITE MYSELF AFTER LAUNCH?
Yes — that's a non-negotiable part of every project. You'll receive a live training session, screen-recorded walkthroughs, written documentation, and 30 days of post-launch support. My goal is always to hand off a site your team can confidently manage without ongoing developer help.
DO YOU ONLY WORK WITH CLIENTS IN PORTLAND, OREGON?
I'm based in Portland, Oregon, and while I love supporting local businesses and nonprofits, I work with clients across the U.S. and internationally. Most projects happen entirely virtually.
WHAT MAKES YOUR RESPONSIVE WEB DESIGN SERVICES DIFFERENT FROM AN AGENCY OR ANOTHER VENDOR?
You work directly with me — no account managers, no junior subcontractors, no outsourcing. I've built and sold businesses, advised on $5M+ in digital acquisitions, and built 15+ responsive websites from scratch. You get senior-level thinking from someone who has been in your shoes, at an investment that reflects that — not agency overhead.
WHAT TO EXPECT — THE PROCESS
In this initial discovery, you'll fill out a quick discovery survey before we schedule a no-cost and no-obligation call. We'll talk vision, challenges, goals, timeline, and budget. I'll ask questions about your audience, your business, and what's not working and what is so we can scope a clear project path together.
DISCOVERY INTAKE & CALL
If aligned after the discovery call, I'll send over a detailed proposal outlining scope, deliverables, timeline, and investment. Everything is transparent — what's included, what's not, and what the process looks like from start to finish. Once you're ready to move forward, you'll accept & sign the contract and will receive an invoice for a deposit. I lock in your start date and get your project officially on the calendar.
PROPOSAL
We kick things off with a deep-dive live virtual or in-person meeting where I gather everything I need: brand assets, content, access to platforms, inspiration, and any existing materials. You'll receive access to your dedicated client portal during the onboarding meeting as well as a chance to ask any questions before we dive into the work.
ONBOARDING
You'll get regular updates and structured check-ins. I'll present work at key milestones for your feedback — typically 2 rounds of revisions are included per deliverable. Once designs are approved and systems are built, I move into implementation mode: launching your website, setting up automations, activating campaigns, or whatever final buildout your project requires along with a final QA audit.
PROJECT TIME!
I don't just hand you the keys and disappear. I walk you through everything — how to update your website, use your new systems, manage your tools. You'll get screen recordings, documentation, and a live training session so you feel confident running things on your own. Plus, 30 days of post-launch support is always included.
